WEBINAR: Assessing the Learning Outcomes of Library Instruction

Outcome measurement is a way for libraries to assess their impact on the people they serve and to help answer the question, “What good did we do?” In this webinar, participants will learn about measuring the learning outcomes of library instruction sessions using Project Outcome for Academic Libraries. The presenter, Eric Ackermann, chaired ACRL’s Project Outcome for Academic Libraries Task Force and is head of Reference Services at Radford University in Virginia. He will describe what the Project Outcome surveys are designed to measure and case studies of their use for library instruction. He will also highlight how these tools can be implemented to complement existing assessment work in academic libraries. Participants should consider in advance, and be prepared to share, their current instruction outcomes and assessment methods.
